Palladam is a panchayat town in Coimbatore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Palladam is situated 38 Kms away from Coimbatore which is "The Manchester of South India". The city, Palladam is surrounded by power looms and poultry. Tiruppur, which is famous for banian and export cotten knitware industry is 13 Kms away from it. Palladam had a population of 29,145. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Palladam has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 65%.
