Kodaikanal - General Information
Kodaikanal is located at a latitude of 10°7' N to 10°20' N and a longitude of 77°16' E to 77°45' E. and is situated at an altitude of about 2,133 metres (6,998 feet) above sea level. It is also a popular tourist destination, with an artificial lake, and numerous scenic mountain view points[2]including Coaker's Walk, which has magnificent views down to the plains. Next to the lake is Bryant Park, a botanic garden. To the South is Perumal Malai (Mount Perumal), a hill which resembles an extinct volcano.
Temperature varies from moderate to quite cool - during the summer it is between 20 and 11 °C and during the winter it is between 17 and 8°C. The average rainfall is 1650 mm. The best times for traveling there are from April to June and from September to October.
