Valparai
It is 102 kms from Coimbatore in Western Ghats in the Anamalai range. It has many tea plantations and is a picnic spot.

It is 15 km from Valparai. The Solaiyar Dam is the second largest rock dam in Asia. Its length is about 20 km.

Tamil Nadu Agriculture University The University is situated about 5 km from Coimbatore railway junction. It is one of the sixteen major agricultural Universities in the country and one of the best in south Asia. Agricultural University is one of the best institutions of its kind in South Asia, the Agricultural University was originally established as an Agriculture Farm in 1868 in Saidapet, Chennai. The Location was moved to Coimbatore in 1907 and the name was changed to Agricultural College which later, came to be known as the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University on June 1, 1971.
Horticulture Farms, Kallar, Near Mettupalayam.
Kallar Horticulture Farm is part of the State Horticultural Farm under the Department Of Horticulture. A place of natural beauty with Kallar water falls complementing , it attracts thousands of tourists from in and around Coimbatore.
Irrespective of the place being run by the Horticulture department for the conservation of Vegetation, the place is open to tourist with minimal charges. Facilities are provided to sit and enjoy the serene panoramic view. The Horticulture Farm also has a sales counter for seasonal fruits, vegetables, pickles, jams, masalas, etc.
Vaitheki Falls, Narasi Palayam
It is located 30 kms. from Coimbatore through the Narasipuram village. It is a fine picnic spot for trekkers. The perrennial waterfall is a major attraction.
Top Slip, Pollachi
A picturesque locale in the Anamalai Hills. It is about 37 kms from Pollachi and about 90 km from Coimbatore. Bungalows are available within the sanctuary. For thrill seekers, accommodation is also available in a tree house.
V.O.C Park, Coimbatore
The V.O. Chidambaram Park maintained by the city has a mini zoo and a children's amusement park. The Nehru Stadium near the park, hosts a number of football tournaments and athletic meets. For rollerskating enthusiasts, there is also a rink opposite the stadium.
